More than six years after the corporate media\u2019s Covid panic, it\u2019s clear that The Federalist was right about pretty much everything, especially the fact that Dr. Anthony Fauci was corrupt and egotistical from day one. <\/p>\n

The former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director\u2019s diary entries, which Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., released ahead of the career bureaucrat\u2019s expected testimony to Congress, only confirmed what many of us already knew \u2014 Fauci was more concerned with his TV time and the propaganda press\u2019 fawning over him than saving lives.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is not hyperbole to say that today I am the most famous and talked about person in the country and one of the most recognizable persons in the world,\u201d Fauci wrote in March 2020, shortly after sharing that day\u2019s Covid death toll \u2014 9,800. <\/p>\n

One entry exposed in the diary document dump shows Fauci feeding his own pride by taking credit for convincing New York and California officials to close schools and shutter restaurants and bars. Two years later, Fauci publicly claimed during a media appearance that \u201cI didn\u2019t recommend locking anything down.\u201d <\/p>\n

Fauci also brags in multiple entries about forming \u201cfriendships\u201d with known propagandists such as CNN\u2019s Jake Tapper and using his proximity to the press to feed them his preferred questions. <\/p>\n

Fauci\u2019s diary entries might have caught some off guard, but not The Federalist. For the last six years, we, alongside a handful of others, have meticulously documented how Fauci\u2019s rampant self-obsession cost Americans\u2019 livelihoods. <\/p>\n

Instead of relying on epidemiologists and experts for data and recommendations on how to address COVID-19, Fauci colluded with other unelected bureaucrats to\u00a0nuke herd immunity strategies. He sidelined experts, such as those who signed the\u00a0Great Barrington Declaration\u00a0(GBD), for opposing widespread lockdowns. Fauci also\u00a0lied about masking,\u00a0flip-flopped on the importance of in-person schooling, changed his tune on a Covid jab to get credit for it, and pretended to Congress that dangerous experimental research on viruses like Covid didn\u2019t exist. <\/p>\n

In 2021, when corporate media and the government were still scheming to censor Americans for dissenting Covid opinions, including questioning whether the virus was leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), Fauci gladly partnered with Big Tech overlords to make it happen. He also worked overtime to dismiss the idea that U.S.-funded gain-of-function research in China could be linked to the virus\u2019 creation and spread.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fauci\u2019s diary suggests he knew as early as January 2020 that the Wuhan wet market \u201cwas not the source [of Covid], it was the amplifier.\u201d One month later, Fauci\u2019s call with high level health officials and scientists similarly yielded little support for the idea that the global Covid outbreak occurred naturally. Even Fauci\u2019s lackeys called the lab leak theory \u201chighly likely\u201d in private while penning \u201cProximal Origin\u201d\u00a0paper\u00a0that bureaucrats like Fauci and the media used to publicly dismiss the idea. <\/p>\n

Fauci also knew from a 2020 Federalist article forwarded to him by his then-Chief of Staff Greg Folkers that masking was ineffective. He proceeded to publish a \u201cviewpoint\u201d paper\u00a0that claimed the nation\u2019s \u201creturn to normalcy\u201d was contingent upon the \u201cwidespread acceptance and adoption of mask wearing and other inexpensive and effective interventions as part of the COVID-19 prevention toolbox.\u201d<\/p>\n

By July 2021, Fauci was completely sold on downplaying the WIV\u2019s role in the Covid outbreak and drumming up the need for lockdowns and masking. He claimed the FBI, which was \u201cconvinced that the origin of Covid-19 is from a laboratory leak,\u201d had \u201cno idea what they\u2019re talking about.\u201d<\/p>\n

One month earlier, despite protesting for a year to media that the lab leak theory was a \u201ccircular argument,\u201d Fauci told the \u201cCBS This Morning\u201d\u00a0audience that he\u2019s \u201calways\u201d been open to probability of a lab leak. He also suggested against all evidence that \u201cit\u2019s\u00a0a\u00a0bit\u00a0of\u00a0a\u00a0distortion\u00a0to\u00a0say\u00a0that\u00a0we\u00a0deliberately\u00a0suppressed\u201d theories that the virus was manmade or escaped from the WIV.<\/p>\n

Fauci continued this schtick under oath. During a seven-hour deposition in December 2022, Fauci failed to recall pertinent information about his role in the federal government\u2019s Covid weaponization at least\u00a0174 times.<\/p>\n

This strategy was nothing short of personally enriching for Fauci. While regular Americans struggled to make ends meet and keep their small businesses afloat amid lockdowns, the bureaucrat made $1.7 million. By the end of 2021, Fauci was the highest paid federal employee.<\/p>\n

Despite the savior imagery Fauci embraced, evidence overwhelmingly suggests he cared more about his TV appearances than saving lives. He always believed a global pandemic was okay as long as it meant his taxpayer-funded gain of function pet projects could continue. <\/p>\n

The Federalist knew this and repeatedly raised questions about Fauci\u2019s motivations and behavior. It didn\u2019t take long for us to be one of the few outlets willing to admit that Fauci deserved to be fired, if not jailed. <\/p>\n

When President Joe Biden tried to dismiss Fauci\u2019s eligibility for accountability with a last-minute preemptive pardon that granted him more than a decade of immunity from federal prosecution, The Federalist pointed out that neither states nor Congress were compelled to let Fauci off the hook.<\/p>\n

To this day, we are still paying the price for our courage during the Covid years. The Federalist\u2019s initial pushback against the \u201ctwo weeks to stop the spread\u201d lie that gripped the government and media in March 2020 resulted in tremendous blowback and even a deplatforming attempt. <\/p>\n

The censorship algorithms installed during the Covid panic have profoundly affected The Federalist\u2019s social media reach. We even sued the State Department and other government officials for using its Global Engagement Center to suppress our accurate Covid-19 reporting, among other issues. <\/p>\n
