Planned Parenthood is officially endorsing Graham Platner in his effort to defeat incumbent Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, Politico announced on June 22.<\/p>\n

The endorsement comes after Platner\u2019s Democratic primary opponent, Gov. Janet Mills, suspended her campaign. Planned Parenthood previously endorsed Mills because of her staunch pro-abortion views, calling her \u201ca champion for reproductive freedom in the Senate with the ferocity and dedication it demands.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though Planned Parenthood\u2019s first champion dropped out, the organization shouldn\u2019t be too upset with Platner. The two share many things in common. Most notably, a hatred for women and a love for the abortion death culture.<\/p>\n

The Nazi-tattooed politician has an undeniable past of demeaning women. In past Reddit posts, Platner made light of rape in the military, saying, \u201cIf you\u2019re so worried about it to buy Kevlar underwear you\u2019d think you might not get blacked out f\u2014-d up around people you aren\u2019t comfortable with.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Washington Post found that statement among \u201ca large cache of online messages that were deleted shortly before Platner launched his [campaign].\u201d<\/p>\n

Platner also allegedly said that if anyone broke into his home, \u201cI would rape them,\u201d but not in \u201ca sexual way, not in a gay way \u2026 to show them that I\u2019m dominant.\u201d <\/p>\n

One of Platner\u2019s former girlfriends, who described him as \u201cthe most toxic literally abusive man on earth who destroyed my life,\u201d said Platner repeatedly used force to assert himself. She stated that Platner \u201cfrequently grabbed her by the shoulders and once yanked her out of a taxi by her wrist,\u201d the Guardian reported. \u201cDuring one argument \u2026 he twisted her arm behind her back, shoved her into a bedroom, and held the door closed from the other side so she couldn\u2019t get out, telling her to remain there until she was \u2018calm,’\u201d she told The New York Times.<\/p>\n

She also said that Platner constantly cheated and \u201chad overlapping relationships with other women,\u201d while also referring to women as \u201chatchet wounds,\u201d a crude reference to female anatomy.<\/p>\n

Two other women Platner dated spoke to The New York Times and agreed there were \u201cpatterns of heavy drinking and womanizing.\u201d One woman stated that Platner made her feel like \u201ccollateral damage to the world that is his.\u201d<\/p>\n

Platner continued to belittle women after he got married, reportedly sending sexual messages to women online and being active on multiple dating apps.<\/p>\n

His disdain for women tracks with his pro-abortion worldview. Platner openly states on his campaign website that he wants to \u201ckeep government out of our private lives,\u201d yet \u201csupport a strong federal guarantee of the right to choose.\u201d He clarified at the Planned Parenthood endorsement ceremony that he desires abortion rights to be enshrined in federal law. \u201cI will never forgive establishment Democrats for many years never taking the opportunity to codify reproductive rights in federal law,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Platner also publicly denounced Collins for her vote to confirm Justice Brett Kavanaugh, saying that she helped overturn Roe v. Wade<\/em>. In a post on X, Platner advocated for creating life through IVF while simultaneously calling Roe v. Wade a \u201cgrim reminder that freedom of choice has been stripped from millions of women.\u201d<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood shares Platner\u2019s sentiments. Abortion should be readily available to all women to ruin their lives, instead of pro-woman and pro-family alternatives. Abortion tells women that an incredible part of their body that separates them from men is actually a source of oppression. The ability to grow and cultivate a human soul is not a blessing, but a curse that makes women, as Platner believes, less than men and little more than \u201chatchet wounds\u201d for sexual gratification.<\/p>\n

The late 1800s, feminist Charlotte Perkins Gilman first argued this in her book Women and Economics: A Study of the Economic Relation Between Men and Women as a Factor in Social Evolution.<\/em> Gilman thought from a Darwinist perspective that women were physically different from men because they were less developed than the other sex. When Planned Parenthood and Platner demean women through violence to their bodies or minds, they assert the same false, outdated claim.<\/p>\n
