Wednesday\u2019s release of the latest exposing the corruption and hypocrisy that defined Joe Biden\u2019s weaponized Department of Justice is another good sign that the Trump DOJ remains committed to transparency and accountability.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The senator who made the communications public said he couldn\u2019t have done so without the continued cooperation of Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche and his staff.<\/p>\n

\u2018Violation and Incident\u2019<\/h2>\n

As The Federalist\u2019s Brianna Lyman reported on Wednesday, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley released another round of records suggesting the Biden DOJ mishandled classified documents as Special Counsel Jack Smith \u2014 the left\u2019s unlawfully appointed errand boy \u2014 pushed his case alleging that then-citizen Donald Trump mishandled classified information.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Messages from DOJ staff and Smith\u2019s team point to careless handling of top secret documents, disregard for critical procedures, and a flippancy from law enforcement officials itching to knock Trump out of the political arena.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In a letter to Blanche, Grassley notes concerns that an individual was given access to classified materials without confirming the required \u201cneed to know\u201d condition. The Iowa Republican wrote that there was \u201cat least one instance\u201d in which the potential movement of classified materials retrieved by the special counsel\u2019s office was unaccounted for, and a \u201cviolation and incident\u201d occurred when a sensitive compartmented information facility (SCIF) \u201cwas left open at least overnight and potentially longer.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

In a series of messages between Carli Rodriguez-Feo, who worked in the Justice Department\u2019s Litigation Security Group, and Smith team member Julie Edelstein, the two chat about a man identified as \u201cDan\u201d and how he \u201cjust moved forward with clearing someone without the need to know confirmation..\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018[W]ere there any concerns\u2019 \u2026 don\u2019t care if there were!\u201d Rodriguez-Feo wrote in a message dated Oct. 16, 2023.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Edelstein \u201cbecame involved in the Trump-related documents case even before Smith was appointed special counsel,\u201d according to ABC News\u2019 2023 profile piece on Smith\u2019s special counsel team. In 2005-06, while in law school, Edelstein \u201cinterned for the House Homeland Security Committee, working with the top Democrat on the panel, Rep. Bennie Thompson of Mississippi,\u201d according to the news outlet.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Grassley said the communications appear to be related to Smith\u2019s investigation into Trump\u2019s confidential documents case. Smith simultaneously led the left-wing vendetta campaign to convict the president of trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018To Put Trump in Prison\u2019<\/h2>\n

In an interview Wednesday on NewsRadio 1040 WHO in Des Moines, Grassley told me that his committee obtained the records from the Department of Justice. Iowa\u2019s eight-term senior senator said he has worked in an oversight capacity with seven presidents and Trump\u2019s DOJ has been the most cooperative.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had so many investigations that fall into this category of not having documents given to us,\u201d Grassley said of other administrations.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I want to compliment Trump and his people for cooperating with me because making this stuff public, transparency brings accountability,\u201d the Judiciary Committee chairman added. \u201cThis is history, but if this stuff isn\u2019t made known to the American people it could go on and on and on and get lost in the big bowels of bureaucracy. And we can\u2019t have stuff like this going on \u2014 handling classified documents in this way and violating classified document laws just to put president trump in prison.\u201d<\/p>\n

In October, the Judiciary Committee released an explosive FBI document that showed the Biden administration\u2019s FBI targeted the personal cell phones\u2019 \u201ctolling data\u201d of several Republican lawmakers, including eight senators, as part of its corrupt Arctic Frost investigation. The Biden FBI tried to bury the records in a Prohibited Access file. Trump\u2019s FBI released the information to Grassley and his committee.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A month before, Grassley released records showing how former FBI Director Christopher Wray \u201csought to place under political investigation\u201d the Democratic Party\u2019s political enemies, including the Republican National Committee, Republican Attorneys General Association and Trump political groups. Nearly 100\u00a0 Republican targets in total swept up in the Arctic Frost witch hunt, Grassley said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Grassley praised Trump FBI Director Kash Patel for correcting whistleblower retaliation and increasing transparency \u201cmore than any other FBI Director I\u2019ve seen.\u201d<\/p>\n

The accomplice media scoff at such praise for the president and administration they love to hate. Dutifully parroting the Democrats\u2019 talking points, they accuse Trump of weaponizing his DOJ to target his political enemies \u2014 precisely what the Biden Justice Department did over four long years.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018We Ought to Thank Him for That\u2019<\/h2>\n

Yes, Trump has an ax to grind. After spending most of the Biden years being harassed, sued, investigated, indicted, arrested, prosecuted, persecuted, ejected from the ballot and shot at, the grinding is understandable.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He wants accountability for bad actors in the government. So do the American people. Justice for the unjust in the Biden Department of Justice.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As Grassley noted in his letter to Blanche, Trump watched as Barack Obama\u2019s FBI Director James Comey refused to prosecute 2016 Democrat presidential candidate and wretched shrew Hillary Clinton for clearly mishandling highly classified material.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cNot only did the Obama Justice Department not prosecute, but \u2014 as shown by the records that have since been declassified \u2014 the Obama FBI also failed to fully investigate necessary leads,\u201d Grassley wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Biden\u2019s DOJ refused to prosecute his decades-long mishandling of highly classified records even though the Department determined evidence showed \u201cthat President Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified materials,\u201d Grassley wrote. Special Counsel Robert Hur\u2019s report found that Biden willfully retained the records (some in his garage) but declined to press criminal charges because Biden would seem to a jury a \u201csympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.\u201d<\/p>\n

Unlike his predecessors, the president isn\u2019t interested in currying favor and playing nice with the monstrous deep state. That has cost him some political bumps and bruises, but it\u2019s also delivered much-need reforms, removal of rotten apples, and, to a small degree, consequences for corrupt lawfare agents. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cBut the fact that he\u2019s been able to bring some transparency to government is a tribute to his independence, a tribute to how he loves America, a tribute to how he wants to keep government within its constitutional bounds and we ought to thank him for that,\u201d Grassley said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The senator does have a little advice for Trump:\u00a0\u201cI wish the president would step in and tell his CIA director, \u2018Give Grassley what he needs.’\u201d<\/p>\n

His committee has had all kinds of trouble obtaining crucial documents from the intelligence committee, the CIA specifically, Grassley said. He declined to go into specifics.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you deal with the CIA it\u2019s a totally different thing because they\u2019re going to be overly protective of how they do things,\u201d he said. \u201cBut this stuff, we know, has no business not being released.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
