Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, tore into Democrats on Wednesday, pointing out how they hate him because he is exposing the Biden administration\u2019s weaponization of the Justice Department.<\/p>\n

Grassley, as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, highlighted the restoration of the Department of Justice under the Trump Administration during the confirmation hearings of acting Attorney General Todd Blanche for the full post.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom my vantage point, if the people who engaged in the worst partisan lawfare this country has ever seen have a problem with Todd Blanche,\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0a good thing in my book,\u201d Grassley said. \u201cAs sure as sunrise, today,\u00a0some of my Democratic colleagues will tell us that Mr. Blanche is a uniquely terrible nominee.\u00a0Before they do so, however,\u00a0I\u2019d\u00a0urge them to remember the boy who cried wolf,\u00a0and to take a long look in the mirror before lecturing anyone about partisanship at the Justice Department.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grassley referenced his office\u2019s numerous disclosures of documents showing former Special Counsel Jack Smith\u2019s conspiracy to get Trump and other Republicans, stating, \u201cSmith\u2019s operation cut corners and blew through constitutional stop signs instead of respecting them.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also pointed out that the Biden DOJ deemphasized prosecuting child predators in favor of going after January 6 protesters and rioters.<\/p>\n

Under Trump, U.S. Marshals have found over 1,182 missing children, and the FBI has found nearly 7,000 child victims while arresting 2,900 child predators and human traffickers, which Grassley said is a 70 percent increase from 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u00a0doesn\u2019t\u00a0sound like failure to me.\u00a0In contrast, the Biden\u00a0administration diverted prosecutors from child sex\u00a0crime cases to January 6 cases.\u00a0That\u2019s\u00a0unbelievable,\u201d Grassley said.<\/p>\n

While Democrats have \u201crelentlessly attacked the Department and your and President Trump\u2019s leadership\u201d calling \u201cthe Department a\u00a0\u2018disgrace\u2019\u00a0and suggested the agency is broken,\u201d Grassley went through a list of statistics that show how much the department has recovered since Biden era degradation.<\/p>\n

According to Grassley, the country\u2019s murder rate is the lowest it has been since 1900. In Blanche\u2019s opening statement, he pointed to homicides in Washington, D.C., and Memphis, Tennessee \u2014 both of which have been known for their rampant homicides \u2014 noting that murder is down 60 percent and 40 percent in those cities, respectively.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the FBI has been clearing out the top 10 most wanted fugitives list, having captured eight, overall FBI violent crime arrests have increased 184 percent, and the bureau has thwarted 849 terrorist attacks. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) has also gotten 44,000 illegal firearms off the streets.<\/p>\n

Since the beginning of the Trump administration, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) has \u201cseized more than 5,000 kilograms of fentanyl powder, 55 million fentanyl pills,\u201d which accounts for over 428 million fatal doses \u2014 well over the total population of the United States. The DEA has also seized 240,000 kilograms of methamphetamine and 1.2 million kilograms of cocaine.<\/p>\n

Grassley continued:<\/p>\n

They\u2019ve\u00a0established\u00a0the National Fraud Enforcement Division to address more than\u00a0five\u00a0billion dollars in fraud against the American taxpayers.\u00a0They\u2019ve\u00a0reduced the immigration case log by more than 468,000.\u00a0They\u2019re\u00a0challenging and\u00a0eliminating\u00a0racist and unlawful discrimination in the\u00a0government and private sector.\u00a0They\u2019re\u00a0exposing and redressing the Biden-era weaponization of the\u00a0Department against political opponents.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Anticipating Democrats making a mockery of the hearing, while refusing to acknowledge the successes of the Department under Blanche, Grassley quoted himself from a year ago because \u201cit\u2019s become such a pattern,\u201d stating, \u201cSince the very beginning of this Congress, Democrats have engaged in a relentless obstruction campaign for\u00a0nearly every\u00a0one of President Trump\u2019s nominees. Their playbook has included\u00a0maximum\u00a0procedural obstruction, unfair media attacks, repeated attempts to allege misconduct and demands for delayed consideration,\u00a0records\u00a0and investigations\u2026 Like clockwork, just before a hearing or vote, we get another breathless accusation that one of President Trump\u2019s nominees needs to be investigated.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
